We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative QA Device Engineer with a specialized focus on GPS technology to join our dynamic team. As a QA Device Engineer, you will be responsible for driving firmware solutions, and testing hardware components for telematics systems used in automotive, transportation, and IoT applications. Your expertise in GPS technology will be pivotal in ensuring accurate positioning, navigation, and timing capabilities essential for the functionality and performance of our telematics solutions. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate GPS hardware seamlessly with software platforms, enabling efficient data collection, transmission, and analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in hardware design, embedded systems, and GPS technology, along with a passion for advancing the field of telematics through innovative hardware solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the integration and development of GPS hardware components for telematics systems, including receivers, and antennas, to ensure accurate positioning, navigation, and timing capabilities.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and optimization of GPS hardware designs to enhance sensitivity, accuracy, and reliability in challenging environments, such as urban canyons, tunnels, and foliage.
  • Collaborate closely with software engineers to define GPS hardware requirements and interfaces, ensuring seamless integration with software platforms for real-time data processing and analysis.
  • Validate GPS hardware designs through rigorous testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to meet stringent performance requirements and industry standards.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and advancements in GPS technology, including GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems), RTK (Real-Time Kinematic), and A-GPS (Assisted GPS), to drive innovation and continuous improvement in telematics hardware solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and external partners on GPS-related issues, including system architecture, performance optimization, and compatibility with satellite constellations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, firmware development, and quality assurance, to deliver integrated telematics solutions that exceed customer expectations and market requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field; master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven expertise in GPS technology, including receiver design, RF engineering, signal processing, and satellite navigation systems.
  • Strong proficiency in hardware design tools, such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, and RF simulation software, to develop high-performance GPS hardware solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with GPS testing equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and GPS simulators, to validate hardware designs and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of GPS-related protocols and standards, such as NMEA, RTCM, SBAS (WAAS, EGNOS), and RF interference mitigation techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and influence technical decisions.
  • Demonstrated creativity, curiosity, and passion for exploring new technologies and pushing the boundaries of GPS innovation in telematics applications.
